AI workforce data library

Data you can inspect, not just a score.

Every public dataset has a source standard, a freshness check, known limitations, and a clear line between observed facts and AI Crisis estimates.

Observed facts

Imported source fields and verified events stay separate from our analysis.

Named provenance

Published records point to an official directory or a direct evidence link.

Visible freshness

Each collection states its update cadence and most recent successful check.

What we track, and what we do not know

Broad, partial, and limited describe coverage, not data quality. A narrow dataset can still be well sourced.

Occupation and task catalog

Job definitions and daily tasks matched to the titles people actually use.

18,796 official task statements
7,953 reported job titles
100 scored profiles published
O*NET database 30.3

Method

Source occupations and task statements are imported without rewriting them. AI exposure scores are AI Crisis estimates layered on top and are identified as estimates.

Known limits

  • A risk score is not a government forecast or a prediction that a job will disappear.
  • Unscored source occupations improve role matching but are not automatically published as scored job pages.

AI-linked layoff records

Job cuts where a direct source names a headcount and explicitly connects the event to AI or automation.

0 organizations
Direct source required
Duplicate company and announcement dates collapsed

Method

Records must pass a strict publication filter for company name, announced headcount, date, direct HTTPS source, and an explicit AI or automation connection.

Known limits

  • There is no complete national WARN database, so official notice coverage varies by state.
  • The tracker excludes ordinary layoffs unless the cited source explicitly connects the event to AI or automation.

Data center buildout

Source-backed cloud and data center facilities, including proposed, construction, expansion, and operating status.

2 explicitly identified as AI-focused
3 source domains
Coordinates and direct source required

Method

Official operator directories provide the base fleet. Publisher records are included only when a direct source supports the facility and location.

Known limits

  • Operator directories do not consistently publish power, cost, water, or job figures.
  • AI focus is shown only when the cited source explicitly identifies AI workloads or infrastructure.

Workforce news index

A searchable feed of reporting about work, automation, AI policy, tools, and labor-market research.

1,124 links published in the last 30 days
Headlines link to the original publisher
News reports do not become tracker facts automatically

Method

The feed collects source links, removes unsafe URLs and off-topic items, and keeps factual tracker records behind separate verification gates.

Known limits

  • Index volume is not evidence of a trend by itself.
  • Publisher coverage depends on feed availability and may omit paywalled or unindexed reporting.

Company workforce signals

Employer-level events assembled from source-backed layoffs, infrastructure, and company disclosures.

4 organizations with published evidence
0 verified direct company disclosures
62 raw updates held behind review
Unsourced generated updates are not counted

Method

Only company events with a direct source and completed verification are treated as data. Editorial company profiles are not counted as verified events.

Known limits

  • Coverage is not broad enough for company-to-company rankings.
  • No employer risk score should be treated as a fact without a published methodology and evidence record.

Workplace AI tool index

Product profiles mapped to the job tasks they can assist, automate, or leave largely unchanged.

120 raw tool records held behind the publication layer
24 public profiles with an official product source
Source and freshness review required before expansion

Method

A tool must link to an official product page before it is counted as source-backed. Job impact is assessed at the task level rather than inferred from product marketing.

Known limits

  • A product capability is not the same as measured labor displacement.
  • Threat scores and user counts become stale quickly and require dated evidence.
Revision policy

Corrections are part of the record.

Source pages change, announcements are revised, and duplicate reports happen. We preserve source dates, re-run quality checks, and correct public records when stronger evidence becomes available.

Report a problem

Found a stale link, wrong facility, duplicate event, or questionable claim? Send the record and its stronger source. Specific corrections get priority.
